Questionnaire Response

Ajit Kumar - Transcona

1. Why did you decide to run in the 2016 Manitoba election?

Ajit was ripped-off few times (approx. $50K) by few trucking companies in Winnipeg, wrote hundreds of letters to  politicians (Premier, Transport Minister etc) and related MIT officers. Officers says these problem are solid but they are helpless because of politicians, and politicians hardly cares about people. Labour Board never covers Owner Operators even specific to one employer like an employee where WCB is mandatory then why not Labour Board. His annual income came 80% less due to ripped-off and Govt careless policies. Finally he decided to run as a Candidate to raise and fix the hidden problems and because of no funding he sold his Semi-Tractor to fund his campaign.

2. What experience will you bring to complement your role as MLA?

I am passionate about fighting the problems and offering solutions rather than talking them away. I sold my Semi-Truck to fund my campaign, I didn’t raise the funding because of a new party. Our health systems are in a bad way. I have multiple pieces of glass in my foot for 9 years and the doctor has no time to remove the glass pieces from my foot. I can better understand the health issues. I will share up-to 20% of my salary for seniors Day Care as proof of what I say.

3. Is there anything in particular you would like to change in our province? In your electoral division?

Start working on Tax reduction and Day Care for Seniors. I am passionate about fighting the problems and offering solutions rather than talking them away. I sold my Semi-Truck to fund my campaign, I didn’t raise the funding because of a new party.

MB Driving License Fee valid for 5 years like other Provinces of Canada.
Amalgamating school boards into one to reduce costs will take some research, but it may be beneficial..

4. What key issue(s) / topic(s) would like to stand for in your role as MLA, and why is it important to you?

  1. Day Care for Seniors
  2. Reduced Property Tax and appraisal every 5 years
  3. Value Added Tax in the advertised price like fuel prices.  IF TAX INCLUDED PRICING IS IMPLEMENTED THEN HIGH TAX DOESN’T HURT BUY GOVT WILL GET LESS TAX DUE TO HIGHER % AND WILL GET MORE REVENUE WITH LESS PERCENTAGE. Over 160 countries of the world has Tax Included Pricing. Advertised Price is the final price. This will fix most of the tax issues but Govt will get less revenue due to high tax percentage and tax percentage and revenue both are totally different things.
  4. Driver’s License FEE valid for 5 years like other Canadian Provinces.
  5. Modern Rest Areas on Manitoba Highways
  6. Direct flights from Winnipeg to London/Europe for Asia and Africa. I know it’s not a Provincial issue but if Govt start initiates we can do make it possible.

5. What is one thing in particular that you value about the electoral division that you wish to represent?

Day Care for Seniors and Reduced Property Tax

If NDP or other major party talk about reducing the taxes then people are excited but if Manitoba Party says that then NDP people says it will be loss of revenue but govt will get more revenue. People are blind for NDP and that’s the biggest problem but now young and educated people aware of that and are supporting Manitoba Party.
