Elizabeth Lynch - Morden-Winkler

1. Why did you decide to run in the 2016 Manitoba election?

I am running to expand and grow on the services and supports in Morden-Winkler. I have always been passionate about community development and this is a natural next step for me.

2. What experience will you bring to complement your role as MLA?

I have a Master’s in Social Work and over 10 years-experience working with marginalized communities, including at-risk youth. I also have a long history of volunteer work focusing in youth mentorship programs.

3. Is there anything in particular you would like to change in our province? In your electoral division?

I will work hard to ensure that health and education services are more accessible to everyone. Families can count on me to be a strong voice for their priorities locally and provincially.

4. What key issue(s) / topic(s) would like to stand for in your role as MLA, and why is it important to you?

Families in the community tell me that they want to ensure good, local jobs are available for young people. I am proud that the NDP are committed to making record investments in infrastructure, which will help create jobs and grow the economy. We are also investing in training programs and ensuring post-secondary education is affordable so that young people can get the education they need for good jobs.

5. What is one thing in particular that you value about the electoral division that you wish to represent?

How welcoming this community is. We have so many new families coming here from all over the world and I want to ensure that we continue to give those families the support they need to build a good life here.

6. Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?

I am committed to listening to the concerns of local families and turning that into actions that addresses your priorities.
