Questionnaire Response

Virgil Gil - Minto

1. Why did you decide to run in the 2016 Manitoba election?

I love helping people, listen to what is important and their concern. I hope they give me a chance to do that

2. What experience will you bring to complement your role as MLA?

I lived in Manitoba for more than 40 years. I’ ve seen it’s ups and downs and broken promises by politicians. I want to find out why some simple things that looks easy is very hard for them to do. I’m ready for the challenges that will be in front of me and find the proper solutions.

3. Is there anything in particular you would like to change in our province? In your electoral division?

Lower  the PST to 5%. Kill the photo radar. Give $20,000 basic personal exemption and $40,000 per couple. Make 90% of education funds to be spent in schools. Reduce condo property taxes. Remove PST from applicable insurance policies. Give 10% flat tax on personal and business income after basic personal and small business deductions.

4. What key issue(s) / topic(s) would like to stand for in your role as MLA, and why is it important to you?

Help the people anyway I can, and serve as an honest MLA. Our streets should be more safer. Try to understand our panhandlers on the streets and give them the necessary help. Introduce more ways to encourage people to physical activities, like more bikeways, more community sports. Find  better ways and means of recycling everything.

5. What is one thing in particular that you value about the electoral division that you wish to represent?

Help and serve the community honestly

6. Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?

Lets help one another to be successful. There’s strength in togetherness
